For a little over two months, the YWCA has ventured into the world of blogging.  With seven different entries posted by three separate contributors, we are quite pleased with what we have seen so far.  Still, we are moving forward with the desire to broaden our reach and include many more perspectives.

In order to so this we have added a subscription feature to the blog, allowing you to know when a new entry is posted.  Now, instead of having to frequently visit the blog to see if anything new has been added, you will simply receive an email when a new entry is posted.

Just for Girls News:
 School's out! Every Just for Girls site celebrated with a party and a ceremony honoring their participation and completion of the program.

After an entire school year of in-depth discussion, creative crafts, educational field trips, games, and the beginning of many amazing friendships, the YWCA honored each young girl participant for her hard work and dedication during the program year.  Here are a few pictures of the girls enjoying their end of the year parties.

In Memory of Mrs. Betty Rhodes

In honor of the life and contributions of Mrs. Betty Rhodes, the YWCA is establishing
'The Betty Rhodes Scholarhship fund.'

The YWCA board will grant an annual $1,000 educational scholarship from this fund to an exemplary youth participating in YWCA programs.

We look forward to seeing the opportunities this will provide the resilient and deserving youth we serve daily.

  • Volunteer. We are always recruiting women and girls to join a committee or to volunteer in the office.

Announcing the YWCA's
2008-2009 Board Officers 


The YWCA's Annual Meeting was held yesterday for all current members.  The 2008-2009 officers were announced and we are excited to share them with you.
