Racial Justice Award Recipient:
Marge Wyatt

Be sure to join us in recognizing this remarkable woman and all that she has done to promote racial equality in Pasadena.

As a member of the Board of Education for the Pasadena Unified School District, she was, above all, a driving force behind the integration of Pasadena's public schools. She is a founder of the Child Care Information Center and continues to work through the NAACP, League of Women Voters, and other organizations to help make Pasadena a more equitable community for all.

Marge has served the Pasadena community through her partnership with many organizations including: NAACP, Zonta, Pasadena Education Foundation, Former California Assemblymember Jack Scott, Young and Healthy, Pasadena Mental Health Association and the United Way of Greater Los Angeles.

Local Voices
Community Thoughts on the Arrest of Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr.

The YWCA's Blog What's the Difference? has a new post titled "Local Voices."

I am sure most have heard and discussed the arrest of Professor Gates early this summer. Still, we would like to take up this dialogue and hear some local voices in the hopes of better understanding how this affected our community here in Pasadena.

Were you surprised, outraged, intrigued or maybe even unconcerned? Why? Let us hear from you.
