Welcome to the YWCA Clinton, Iowa website.

In 2005 we celebrated our 90th birthday and are looking forward to many more years providing programs and services to women and their families in our community. 

Founded in 1915 by a group of women who met as a Bible study group, the YW has evolved as programs and services have changed to meet the needs of women and families in our community.  However, in looking back we find common ground with our foremothers and the theme chosen for the dedication of our building in 1921 still rings true.  It was: 

"By the work you do, by the dreams you dream, by the visions you see shall you know one another."

The YWCA of Clinton is a not-for-profit service organization which, regardless of race or economic status, gives women and their families opportunities for growth and wellness.

Our mission, the empowerment of women and the elimination of racism, is the cornerstone on which programs are planned and that vision drives the YWCA to create opportunities for growth, leadership and power for women, girls and their families.
