Our purpose is to sustain the viability, visibility, and vibrancy of New England's YWCAs as we work to empower women, eliminate racism, and develop leaders committed to achieving our common vision of peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all people.

The YWCA has been a valued provider of services for women and girls and a catalyst for social change across New England since 1866.
Today, our region's YWCAs are known for sheltering women who are survivors of rape or domestic violence, job training and career counseling, affordable child care, youth development, aquatics, and health and fitness programs. At the core of every YWCA are programs addressing women's concerns, interests, and development as well as services and advocacy in our YWCA Hallmark areas of racial justice and women's economic advancement.
The YWCA New England Regional Council includes 18 YWCAs with 110 locations in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and northern Connecticut. Together, these YWCAs engage more than 115,000 people in 714 programs and initiatives each year.
