Types of Camp
For the youngest participants (ages 3-5), we have preschool camp. Children must be totally potty trained before they can attend. Older children take part in regular camp. For the older campers (grades 7-9), we offer the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program. Interested students must fill out an application. This is a responsible leaders program. CITs will assist YWCA camp counselors with arts and crafts, games, meals and cleaning.
Staff Requirements
Our summer camp staff members are required to complete criminal history and reference checks, TB test, drug screen, and first aid and CPR training.
Mandatory Parent Meetings
Parents must attend a mandatory parent meeting at the YWCA prior to their child's first day of summer camp. Meetings are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, and 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday starting June 9.
Fees
There is a one-time registration fee for the summer of $30 for one child or $40 for a family. The weekly summer camp program fee is $100 per child per week for members and $125 per child per week for guests. A $5 discount is offered for each additional child in a family. For more information, please contact Kim Sublett at 765-423-7010 or ksublett@ywcalafayette.org.
