Volunteer Opportunities

The YWCA Greater Lafayette offers many volunteer opportunities:

  • Cleaning or doing yard work (scheduled as needed)
    Applicable to all YWCA departments
  • Assisting with children’s programming in the evening
    Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention Program
  • Helping with the Welcome Desk on the last Tuesday of the month 
    Women’s Cancer Program
  • Answering the domestic violence crisis hotline (operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) 
    Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention Program
  • Answering phones, sharing program information, filing, and copying 
    Applicable to all YWCA departments
  • Helping with 9-1-1 cell phones, creating e-mail distribution lists, and handing out information

  • Working with Spanish-speaking clients and translating documents
    Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention Program
  • Helping with outreach at community fairs and other events 
    Applicable to all YWCA departments

  • Processing mail (labeling, stuffing, sealing, folding, etc.). Often these volunteers are needed on short notice. Times/days will vary.
    Welcome Desk
  • Serving on an event committee (for example, helping to plan and implement Salute to Women, Clay Bowl Giving Project, Holiday Bingo & Silent Auction, or Network Luncheon Series)
    Please tell us which event interests you, and we'll refer you to the contact person.
