A few weeks ago, my teenage son and I engaged in a conversation about summer jobs, more specifically, his first "real" job. We discussed where he wanted to work, how many hours per week to work, how he would get there, and scheduling family activities around his job -- all valid concerns. The longer we talked, the more I thought that the YWCA's job seeking workshop for teens -- entitled "So ... you want a job!" -- would be a perfect spring break activity for him.
"So ... you want a job!" is the YWCA Wausau's new workshop specifically designed for teens, ages 14 and older, who anticipate seeking summer employment. It is being offered during spring break, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the YWCA Wausau, 613 Fifth St. We believe that this is important knowledge for teens and, therefore, are offering the event free to all participants.
