  Racial Equity Coordinator (Contractor) 

Accountability: Mission Impact Manager

Function: The Coordinator is an Independent Contractor whose efforts will support the YWCA Kalamazoo’s Community Education Program by developing, coordinating and conducting presentations in Kalamazoo and Berrien Counties about gender or racial equity, and/or gendered violence.

The Independent Contractor will be capable of managing the project from inception through implementation. The Contractor will collaborate with the Mission Impact Manager with the goal of increasing awareness within the community of the organization’s programs and mission.

Projects: The Independent Contractor commits to designing programs that address the topics of gender or racial equity and/or gendered violence. The Contractor may collaborate with YWCA program staff. The Contractor will implement and facilitate these programs. The Contractor may also research and design evaluation plans for the programs.

Qualifications: The Independent Contract should have intermediate computer skills and be familiar MS Office suites. Prior experience in program development and facilitation is preferred. The Contractor must have excellent communication and presentation skills and be able to work independently. The Contractor must be accustomed to meeting project deadlines.

Training: Training for the Independent Contractor will be determined based on previous experience and knowledge of the programs.

Travel: The Independent Contractor must be able to obtain reliable transportation to and from various locations in Kalamazoo and Berrien Counties.

Duration: It is intended that the contract would last for no more than six (6) months from date of inception.

Clarification: The Independent Contractor will provide their own equipment and have the ability to complete assigned projects within agreed upon time frames. The Contractor will submit periodic invoices to the Mission Impact Manager for approval and subsequent payment.

Payment: The Independent Contractor will be reimbursed for services at the agreed upon rates. Invoices will be required to expedite the payment process.
