This community based program is designed to keep female offenders out of jail and enhance their self-sufficiency, educational/working skills as well as their overall quality of life to reduce recidivism. YWCA La Crosse is working in partnership with La Crosse County Justice Support Services to coordinate services through multiple local agencies using collaborative case management to guide the women's rehabilitation. This program also links female offenders with community resources and provides support through case management and mentorship to improve women's access to opportunities in the La Crosse area and improve their chances for long-term success. Currently the women have several groups inside the home each week including Workforce Connections, Essential Health Clinic and an AODA group.
Our hope is to surround the women in the program with supportive, healthy women in the community who are living law-abiding lives. This will hopefully bridge the gap between those who abide by the law and those who do not.
