YWCA La Crosse

The YWCA Child Center is a year-round, full service child care program that also serves as a 4-year-old kindergarten site for the La Crosse school district. The center located on the campus of Western Technical College is also the lab school for the college's early education program.

The YWCA Child Center provided high quality care for children and families while continuously striving to advance YWCA's mission of eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice and dignity for all.

The Child Center provides care for children and families from 6 weeks to age 11 on both a full and part-time basis.

We believe and research shows that children learn best through play and YWCA child center strives to provide all children with the opportunity to make choices and decisions about their play throughout their day. YWCA Child Center uses a flexible schedule to support the different needs of our children and families. A child will be able to experience group and individualized activities, creative expressions, active and quiet times, outdoor play and intellectual stimulation.

For more information about YWCA Child Center or to enroll your child, please contact Shar Weibel, Child Center Director at (608) 785-9541 or by email at sweibel@ywcalax.org. Prospective families are also welcome and encouraged to schedule a tour of the center.
