Bridges is a program designed to provide one-on-one mentoring and group meetings to at-risk teenage girls, between the ages of 15 and 18.
1-on-1 mentoring: Each girl will have the opportunity to build a mentorship relationship with a woman in her community. Each mentee and mentor will be matched based on similar interests and hobbies. Mentors and mentees will meet a minimum of one hour per week for a minimum of nine months.
Group meetings: Each girl will have the chance to connect with other local teen girls through weekly group meetings held Tuesday nights for two hours. Each meeting will be facilitated by the Youth Services Coordinator and will involve meeting new friends, discussing relevant issues, learning new skills, and connecting with local resources. Most importantly, each meeting will provide an environment for each girl to be herself and to have fun!
Through quality relationships and connections with others in their community, each young woman will learn the skills to become confident and self-sufficient adult.
