Obtaining housing is an important step toward self-sufficiency. Through three housing programs run by YWCA La Crosse, women are able to focus on finding a job, caring for their children, maintaining sobriety and working toward permanent residency while living in our transitional homes. Each program has a different focus but all are helping women make that first step.
Ophelia's House is a community-based program designed to keep female offenders out of jail and enhance their self-sufficiency, educational/working skills as well as their overall quality of life to reduce recidivism
Ruth House provides homeless women transitional housing as they continue or complete treatment, continue the healing process and work toward self-sufficiency
Transitional Housing provides financial assistance for housing and comprehensive housing case management services to single parent women and their children who are experiencing homelessness.
