Women's Film Series
Our Women's Film Series offers an opportunity to build awareness, engagement and advocacy around issues relevant to women and girls around the world and in our own communities. Prior to each screening, we provide an opportunity to connect and network over wine and cheese, and each film is followed by a moderated discussion with local experts in the field. A small suggested donation helps support the YWCA's women's empowerment initiatives. Organize an outing with your neighbors, family, friends or community group and join us for an educational, inspirational and fun evening out!
Our February film is:
BRAVE MISS WORLD
BRAVE MISS WORLD is a documentary about Israeli beauty queen Linor Abargil, who was abducted and raped in Milan, Italy two months before being crowned Miss World in 1998. Ten years later, she’s ready to talk about it – and to encourage others to speak out. Now a globe-trotting victims’ advocate, Linor encourages others to stand against sexual violence by putting an end to their silence.
