Evanston/North Shore

AfterWords Book Discussion Group

AfterWords, our YWCA book group, is teaming up with Dear Evanston's Book Club, You Can't Judge a Book by Its Cover, MEET (Making Evanston Equitable Together) and the Evanston Public Library to co-sponsor the August 17 gathering of Evanston's Social Justice Book Club.

We'll be discussing "The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Color Blindness" by Michelle Alexander, at several locations around Evanston. Information and registration are available here. Please register by July 24.

We'd love to hear about the books and movies that have helped in your journey toward equity. You can send an e-mail to: eheineman@ywcae-ns.org. For information about other Racial Justice Programs and to use our resource list, visit: www.ywca.org/rjprograms and follow us on Facebook.
