ccr&r referral database

The CCR&R referral database is a listing of more than 600 child care facilities in Lake County, Illinois including family child care homes, child care centers, school-age programs, and Headstarts/Early Headstarts.  Parents contact the YWCA Lake County regularly to receive custom lists of child care providers from the database, based on criteria they select.  Parents are then able to contact the providers on the list and select a provider that best meets their needs.  The CCR&R provides information on selecting quality care, but does not provide recommendations.

Additionally, the Department of Family Services uses the data from the database as a measure of supply and demand of child care in Illinois.  This is a free and voluntary service to child care providers.

As a licensed or licensed-exempt child care provider listed on the database, your program is eligible for grant programs for equipment, facility improvements, and professional development through the CCR&R.  You will also receive free mailings, including the CCR&R Training Calendar and Newsletter.  Most importantly, the referral database serves as a FREE marketing tool to help you keep your program full; as parents come in looking for child care, the database allows us to match up lists of providers that meet the needs of the parents.

In order to be listed on the database, you must complete a "Business Information Form."  This form provides details about your business, including ages served, vacancies, type of program, education/training, etc. To receive and complete the form call (847) 662-4247 x113.

The Illinois Department of Human Services requires that you provide us with an updated "Business Information Form" at least once a year.  We encourage you, however, to contact us and update your information more often, so that the database accurately reflects your facility and is of the greatest benefit to you.

If you fail to turn in a completed "Business Information Form" within the year, your facility will be removed from the database.  Your facility will not be referred out nor will you be eligible for grants.  Once an update form is completed or you update your information over the phone, your facility will again be active on the database and you will again receive all the benefits discussed previously.
