Voter Information 

In order to register to vote you must be:

• A U.S. citizen
• 18 years of age by next election
• A Lake County resident for 30 days preceding the next election 

To register you must have two forms of identification, with at least one having your legal residence address. Valid forms of identification are:

• Illinois driver's license
• State of Illinois identification card
• Valid passport
• Utility or contract service bill address to applicant at legal address, postmarked no more than 30 days prior
• Personalized check for checking account

Secondary forms of identification:

• Military, employee, student or welfare identification card
• Certified copy of birth certificate
• Social security card or veteran's administration patient card
• Civic, union or professional membership card
• Check cashing card
• Library or insurance card
• Certified copy of marriage license or divorce papers
• Naturalization papers
