Working parents, living in an at risk environment, who do not have the necessary education and work/life skill, are unable to provide for the developmental needs of their children. The YWCA feels by empowering and supporting working parents with coordinated YWCA parent education and training, the parent will be better enabled to foster healthy relationships, and support a child's educational, social, and emotional development throughout life.

The YWCA Child Care Resource and Referral program (CCR&R) works in partnership with parents, business leaders, government officials and child care providers to bring high quality child care to Lake County families. The CCR&R is committed to:

• Increasing the supply of quality, affordable child care
• Preparing individuals to enter the child care field
• Assisting families with locating child care that meets their needs

The YWCA provides the following education and training programs in Spanish as well as English.

• The YWCA Child Care Referral Program (CCR&R) works in partnership with parents, business leaders, government officials and child care providers to bring high quality child care to Lake County families.

• The YWCA Child Care Assistance Program (subsidy) (CCR&R) works in partnership with parents, business leaders, government officials and child care providers to bring high quality child care to Lake County families.

• The YWCA supports working parents with Parent Services coordinated YWCA parent education and training.  Working parents gain education and work/life skills to provide for the developmental needs of their children, foster healthy relationships and support a child’s educational, social, and emotional development throughout life.

• The YWCA Provider Services help providers receive comprehensive training to fulfill DCFS licensing standards and meet the requirements for Child Development Associate (CDA) credit.
  
  
• The YWCA CCR&R Referral Database is a listing of more than 800 child care facilities in Lake County, Illinois including family child care homes, child care centers, school-age programs, and Headstarts/Early Headstarts.
