child care assistance program

(subsidy)

The YWCA Child Care Resource and Referral program (CCR&R) works in partnership with parents, business leaders, government officials and child care providers to bring high quality child care to Lake County families.  The CCR&R is committed to increasing the supply of quality, affordable child care, preparing individuals to enter the child care field and assisting families with locating child care that meets their needs. Parents receive customized child care referrals, free workshops and networking opportunities. Child care providers receive comprehensive training, scholarships, nurse consultant visits, free referrals and access to the YWCA Resource Center.

What does "low-income" mean?

Your family's countable income must be below the following guidelines:

Family Size    Monthly Income must be below
 2  $2,429
 3  $3,052
 4  $3,675
 5  $4,299
 6  $4,922
 7  $5,545
 8  $6,169

To determine your countable income, the gross wages (before taxes) paid by an employer are added to your other income (such as any government benefits, child support you receive, or self-employment income). Any child support you pay is subtracted from your income.

NOTE:  The Child Care Resource and Referral Agency (CCR&R) will operate the eligibility determination and child care provider reimbursement process for subsidized child care services as described and in accordance with all conditions and terms set forth in the Child Care and Development Contract attachment to the Department of Human Services (DHS) Community Services Agreement and sets forth supplemental contractual obligation.

- Payments to the Provider are based upon services and rates as specified in the approved IDHS Child Care Program Plan.
- The provider must submit accurate reports as specified in the approved IDHS Child Care Program Plan.

- On going Case Management is defined by the IDHS Child Care Program Handbook.

Eligibility requirements are subject to change.  The State of Illinois Program information can be found at www.inccrra.org.
