The YWCA is hosting a first TeenSpeak, a poetry and spoken word event for teens and by teens, from 6-8 p.m. on Fri., Feb. 24, at the Phyllis Wheatley Heritage Center, located at 2711 Locust St., in midtown St. Louis. The poetry event is sponsored jointly by the organization’s YW-Teens program and its department of Racial Justice. The event is free and open to all area high school students. The 42nd Annual YWCA Phyllis Wheatley Alberta E. Gantt Valentine Fashion Luncheon will be held at noon on Sat. Feb. 11, at the Crowne Plaza St. Louis-Clayton hotel, 7750 Carondelet Ave, in Clayton, Mo. The annual luncheon benefits the YWCA Transitional Housing Program (THP) for homeless women.
