Recipients of this award are selected by their employers for their professionalism and commitment to helping other women achieve. The YWCA Women of Achievement Awards Luncheon, where the Women of Professional Excellence are honored, provides employers with a unique opportunity to recognize the contributions of exceptional women within their organizations through this award.
For employers, recognizing a Woman of Professional Excellence not only indicates support and encouragement of women’s growth, but also signifies a leadership-conscious work culture that values and rewards talent, dedication, strong work ethic and teamwork by female employees. Further, selection and acknowledgment of the Woman of Professional Excellence Award sends a message to the community of an organization’s commitment to attracting and retaining women with high standards of professionalism and quality.
Woman of Professional Excellence honorees will be recognized at the YWCA Women of Achievement Awards Luncheon on Monday, May 12, 2008 at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel. Each honoree will be recognized, receive an award, and a biography and photograph of each honoree will appear in the luncheon program book.
The YWCA strongly encourages employeers to use the following criteria when selecting women to receive the Woman of Professional Excellence Award.
High professional standards and evidence of career and personal growth
Significant contributions to the effective, efficient operation of the organization
Willingness to support and mentor others in the organization, especially women active and possessing a genuine interest in the community
