Cake-a-Palooza 2013

February 9th, 2013 at the Quincy Mall

12:00 to 4:00  

The YWCA of Quincy welcomes you to the Cake-A-Palooza Cake Competition at the Quincy Mall. The theme this year is "And They Lived Happily Ever After.." A Fairytale. Coming back is the ever so popular Extreme Cake Competition! Also returning are the most delicious Gourmet Cupcakes ready to purchase and give to your Valentine. This day will feature multiple events for everyone and is sure to be a lot of fun for all ages.

Two Divisions: Advanced Competition (12-3 p.m.) This division will feature 15 pre-decorated cakes in a themed competition. First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded to the top three cakes. These cakes will be pre-sold for $50 each. To purchase a cake, contact the YWCA at 217-221-9922. Extreme Division (1-4 p.m.) This division will feature 4 cake decorating teams to perform in an EXTREME LIVE CAKE COMPETITION. They will perform in the Fountain Court area of the Mall, and will be competing for the very coveted Cake-a-Palooza Traveling Trophy to proudly display at their business establishment. KHQA-TV will emcee the competition. 


New to Cake-a-Palooza! 

Tastes of the Tri-State

This is a new event that features samples from some of the finest dessert caterers in the area! A punch card with eight tastings will be for sale for $10 and can be used to visit any of the vendors. These vendors include County Market (wedding cakes), Starbucks (Coffee & Hot Cocoa), Kreative Kakes by Lisa (Mini Cheesecakes), Nufit (Dark Chocolate Brownie with Raspberry Drizzle), Kirlin's Hallmark (Fudge), Kacie's Cookies (Cookies), Corrine's Confection Perfection (Mini Gourmet Cupcakes) and YWCA (Gourmet Cupcakes). You can visit with the businesses making this a great opportunity for those planning weddings, anniversaries, and other events and need some awesome desserts. The venders will be located in the west end of the mall in front of JC Penney. 


YWCA's Gourmet Cupcakes 

Returning this year are the YWCA Gourmet Cupcakes. There will be two stands selling the cupcakes. One is in from of Payless ShoeSource and Hibbett Sports. The second stand is in front of Victoria Secret. Cupcakes are $5 and will pre-wrapped ready to take home. Thirty decadent, delicious and divine flavors to choose from, we're sure to have your favorite. 


Children's Activities and Games

Enjoy an enchanted walk with royal prizes, decorate a crown with Cinderella, and plant a magic bean with Jack! Come dressed as your favorite prince or princess! Loads of cupcake fun will be provided for the little ones. Games and activities will be held at the east end of the Mall by Sears. You may even get your picture taken with the Famous Cupcake Girls. Expect some creative, -themed crafts. The Magic Oven and Enchanted Walk will be back as well as some new fun activities.


YWCA Raffle and Information 

 The YWCA will have a table set up with available information to learn about our Women of Achievement Raffle. Also for sale will be raffle tickets for gift baskets. Information will be provided on our programs, and how we "Eliminate Racism and Empower Women" and how to get involved.
