Meet our new CEO on Feb. 14 & 16 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Have a cup of coffee with your new YWCA of O'ahu CEO, Kimberly Miyazawa Frank.

“Coffee Talk,” an informal meet-and-greet, will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 14 and Thursday, Feb. 16 from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. at YWCA Laniākea in the Loggia.

Meet Kimberly, and share your experiences at the YWCA. All members are welcome!

Kimberly Miyazawa Frank, Esq., brings a substantial background in advocacy for women, girls and racial equality; organizational development; fundraising; and nonprofit leadership.

“The YWCA is a tremendous community resource with a mission that every woman (and man) can support," she said. "I look forward to working with all of you to make it even more relevant given the challenges women face today.” She will begin her position with the YWCA in mid-January 2012.

“After an extensive search, we are excited to have found someone right here in Hawaii who meets our qualifications and will bring both experience and passion to the YWCA of Oahu,” said Lissa Guild Eveleth, chair of the executive search committee and chair of the YWCA Board of Directors. “We are confident Kimberly will infuse a new energy into the services and programs at the YWCA and provide the necessary strategic direction for the staff.”
 
Kimberly Miyazawa Frank, new CEO of the YWCA of O‘ahuFrank has been the principal at Kimberly Frank Consulting since 2006. Her primary responsibility was to incorporate best practice strategies through strategic planning, executive development and coaching, leadership succession planning, strategic communication, change management and training. Previously, she was the organizational development manager at Servco Pacific, Inc.

“I have advocated for women all of my life and am delighted to now be in a position to enhance the lives of even more women through the reach and influence of the YWCA,” said Frank.

She brings a rich background in nonprofit leadership and fundraising. Frank currently serves on the board of directors for St. Andrew’s Priory Alumnae Association, The Coalition for Tobacco Free Hawaii and Legacy of Life Hawaii. Most recently she was the chair of the Honolulu Symphony Society and president of the Junior League of Honolulu. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University and her Juris Doctor from Rutgers University. She is a Fellow with the Asian Pacific American Women’s Leadership Institute. Frank is a graduate of St. Andrew’s Priory School.

Members of the volunteer YWCA CEO search committee include: Guild Eveleth, Hawaiian Telcom, and fellow YWCA board members Kalei Cadinha-Pua'a, Cadinha & Company; Laurice Otsuka, FBI Honolulu; Barbra Pleadwell, Hastings & Pleadwell; Jean Rolles, Outrigger Enterprises; June Nakamura, Kennedy/Jenks Consultants; Corianne W. Lau, Alston Hunt Floyd & Ing; and community volunteers Michael Broderick, YMCA of Honolulu; Susan Eichor, aio; and Janis Reischmann, Hau`oli Mau Loa Foundation.

Bishop & Company conducted a local and national search for an individual with demonstrated leadership skills, tangible nonprofit experience and the capabilities to develop and implement strategic plans to support the YWCA of O‘ahu’s mission and sustain the organization.

The YWCA of O‘ahu provides programs and services for women and girls to advance their health and wellness, economic and professional development, and community leadership. Founded in 1900, it is the oldest and largest women’s association in Hawai‘i.
