In 2007, the YWCA of Greater Austin reached a major milestone in its history - celebrating 100 years of service to the Austin community.  Incorporated in 1907 in the State of Texas as the Young Women's Christian Association of the University of Texas, the YWCA of Greater Austin has always been more than exercise and fitness programs, as many YW's are - the YWCA of Greater Austin is, and always has been, a service organization that focuses on the health and human service needs of women and girls most whom are low to moderate income.

YW Counseling & Referral Center (YWCRC)

- Short-term mental health counseling for women, couples, and families

- Psycho-educational and/or skills building groups and workshops in the community

- Information and referral services


Generation YW Program

- Curriculum-based education/skills training groups for middle-school girls

- Curriculum-based education/skills training groups for teen girls and boys referred by local juvenile courts

- Community-based tobacco presentations for adults and youth

- Tobacco/alcohol/drug awareness community activities


Continuing Education Series

- Accredited Provider of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for LPC/LMSW/LMFT

- Ongoing In-House Professional Training Workshops

- CEU workshops that examine social service issues from a racial justice lens

- CEU workshops that examine women's economic empowerment from a social services perspective
