2009 YWCA Women's Empowerment Symposium

The YWCA Women’s Empowerment Symposium promotes self-actualization by giving women the skill sets needed in order to take control of their own destiny. This event brings together women for the purpose of building knowledge and networking among their peers as a form of personal
empowerment. The event includes feature speaker Linda Kanney presenting a special segment called “Own It.” This initiative from the national YWCA encourages women to educate themselves about the issues effecting women today, to own those issues and make an effort to work together to promote change. After dinner, participants are invited to attend three of six breakout sessions described below:
