YWCA Elgin Leadership Award for Women 

 The 2012 YWCA Elgin Leadership Award for Young Women goes to Araceli Villagomez.

Araceli is an outstanding young woman and a leader in the community who exemplifies and models the YWCA Elgin mission and values of creating opportunities for women and girls.

Araceli's impressive credentials and accomplishments during her high school career include: Homework club, EHS Universidad de las Padres, Japanese Club, Mock Trial Club, Hispanic Club, and Art Club. Some how during her busy schedule she also found time to volunteer in the community at: El Centro de Informacion, Salvation Army (packing meals for Haiti), and various Get Out The Vote Campaigns organized at Elgin High School.

Araceli is planning on attending Elgin Community College and after completing her associate's degree will transfer to a university to major in International Relations.

Congratulations, Araceli on being the recipient of the 2012 YWCA Elgin Young Women Leadership Award.
