The Family Violence Prevention Project works toward preventing elder abuse and neglect by increasing service providers, families, and older adults' awareness and knowledge of elder abuse and neglect prevention. Through knowledge, supportive environments, and early identification of risk factors, we can prevent elder abuse and neglect.

Did you know?
· It is estimated that up to 5 million Americans are victims of elder abuse and neglect, and about 50% of these situations represent domestic violence in later life
· 5 out of 6 cases of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation are unreported
· Older women are more likely than younger women to experience violence for a
longer time, to be in current violent relationships, and to have health and mental
health problems.
