YWCA Amend Adult Program

The YWCA Amend Adult Program is designed to address the effects of domestic violence and violent behavior through prevention/intervention services that target adult males who engage in violent, abusive and unruly behavior.

The Amend mission is to help individuals take responsibility for their actions; to examine and confront the values, beliefs, and attitudes that contribute to violence; and to develop non-violent alternatives for dealing with conflict and managing anger to prevent and reduce violence in the community. The program began in 1982 and has provided batterers' intervention services to court-ordered and self-referred domestic violence offenders in our community for over 25 years.

Amend addresses male battering on the individual level and demands accountability for abusive behavior.

The YWCA Amend Adult Program is offered in Hamilton and Clermont Counties.  A Spanish-language class is offered in Hamilton County.  Click here for program schedule, referral procedure and program fees.

YWCA Amend Adolescent Program

Amend Adolescent is a prevention/intervention program for adolescents ages 11-18 involved in or at risk for violent behaviors, including domestic violence, dating violence, gang violence, school violence, and other types of violent or abusive behaviors. The Program offers psycho educational group sessions and utilizes cognitive behavioral techniques to help participants make changes in both their thinking and their behavior.

Amend Adolescent uses an evidenced based curriculum which is designed to address issues related to violence prevention and anger management including violence and abuse, dating and gang violence, peer relationships, effective communication skills, problem-solving, stress management, cultural diversity, self-awareness and esteem. There is a separate parent group where a “supportive adult” can attend with the adolescent to assist them through the program.

The YWCA Amend Adolescent Program is offered in Hamilton and Clermont Counties.  Click here for program schedule, referral procedure and program fees.

YWCA CAN (Control Anger Now) Program

The program offers psycho educational group sessions that focus on conflict resolution, decision making, and emotion management.
