This scholarship award of one thousand dollars was established by Karen and Warren Haug to support continued education for a female high school senior residing in the region served by the YWCA of Greater Cincinnati’s Eastern Area, who plans to attend an accredited college or university after high school graduation. This is an annual scholarship, established in 1999.

The scholarship committee will base its selection on the following criteria: academic record, SAT and/or ACT scores, class rank, community involvement, leadership qualities, special talents, and essay writing. Applications for the scholarship will be judged on the relative merit of total applications received by the deadline date.

Selection Criteria:

• Student must be female
• Student must reside in Clermont, Brown or Adams County and attend a Clermont, Brown or Adams County high school
• Student must have recommendation letters from her high school guidance counselor and one other person familiar with her achievements
• Student must submit the application, transcript of grades, letters of recommendation, SAT and/or ACT scores, and her high school counselor’s name, school phone and fax numbers
• Application must be received by the YWCA of Greater Cincinnati on or before April 5, 2012.  Late applicants will not be considered
  

The following must be submitted for scholarship consideration:

• Completed application (Click here to download)
• Essays, typed
• Copy of high school transcript
• Copy of SAT and/or ACT scores
• Two letters of recommendation, one from a high school guidance counselor
   (Please limit to two letters of recommendation)
• High school guidance counselor's name, school phone and fax numbers.
