Our quality environment provides professional and knowledgeable staff with updated equipment and large classrooms. We are licensed through DCFS. A thematic approach is used along with a center-based learning environment that meets DCFS requirements. Activities include language, creative art, math, science experiences, music and movement, and computers, with a daily opportunity to increase gross and fine motor development. Children will gain confidence by exploring their own environment through developmentally appropriate hands-on experiences.
The YWCA programs place emphasis on incorporating social development, manners, self-esteem, problem solving, reading readiness, creative expression and more. Field trips are taken and children ages two through five are provided with a scheduled monthly swim time at the Pekin facility.The YWCA Child Care believes that children can learn by doing and play is their work! In order for your child to be enrolled in any of our child care programs one parent or guardian must have a current YWCA membership. An adult membership is $35.00 per year.

If you would prefer to fill out your application paperwork on your computer and you have Microsoft Word you can click here for the forms. Please call to see if there are positions available. Completing these forms will not guarantee that we have a position available for your child. They will hopefully save you some time because they have been formatted to auto fill duplicate information so you will only need to type it once. They are created as a form so you can only type in the designated areas. You can use your mouse to move from data box to data box or press your TAB key to advance to the next data box. When you have completed the forms you can save them on your hard drive for next year if you like and then you will only need to make corrections as necessary. Then you can print them, sign the yellow highlighted areas and bring them with you to the Y! Due to the fact that we are required to have signatures on file they cannot be submitted on-line.
You will also need to provide us with a completed physical form, lead screening or waiver, and TB skin test results. There may be some additional paperwork required.
