YWTeens Leadership Camp

Leadership Camp provides young girls an opportunity to develop their leadership potential, establish short and long term goals for a healthy future and develop decision-making skills for challenges and barriers in their own lives that they must overcome in order to be successful.  Conducted in the summer, leadership camp is extremely helpful to girls who are worried about making their way in the environment of middle school.  Leadership Camp operates Tuesday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each week.  The YWCA of Corpus Christi provides speakers who are leaders in the community to speak with the girls to learn more about each one's strong points.  The girls will have projects that reveal their characteristics and personality traits.  Throughout the day, lunch and snacks are provided and end the day with a swim at the YWCA.  Through the opportunity of leadership camp, transition to middle school will be smoother and will increase student success academically and socially. Middle school students and their families have increased confidence as they move into a new phase of life and school.
