October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Join us as we honor those whose lives have been affected by domestic violence.
Right: The Skydance Bridge over the new I-40 highway lights purple in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
In the United States, 1 in 4 women will be a victim of domestic violence in her lifetime. In Oklahoma, we rank 3rd in the nation for the number of women killed by men. Domestic violence affects our mothers, daughters, sisters, wives and children. It reaches all ages, races, and socio-economic groups. Join us this October as we honor those whose lives have been lost and celebrate those victims who have become survivors in the wake of violence.
