2006 YWCA Week Without Violence Art Contest

The YWCA USA has extended its national art contest in hopes of reaching all parents and caregivers across the country and encouraging them to have their children participate in the “When I Get Mad I Draw” art contest. A signature feature of YWCA USA’s Week without Violence, the art contest is for children between the ages of 3 and 16, asks kids draw a picture of how they deal with feelings of anger. If your child would like to enter the national art contest for a chance to win great prizes sponsored by TiVo, there is still time.

In recognition of the many young artists that submitted entries to the YWCA USA before the deadline was extended, a winner has been selected from each of the YWCA’s nine regions for a special public choice contest.* Each of these winners will receive a YWCA backpack filled with art supplies. Your votes will determine which of these pictures will receive the “When I Get Mad I Draw” public choice award. The artist of the picture that has received the most votes by midnight on October 21, 2006 will receive special recognition.

Vote for your favorite drawing!

* All complete submissions received by the YWCA USA have been re-entered into the extended national contest sponsored by TiVo.
