Founded in 1858, the YWCA USA was the first women’s organization established in the United States. And, it holds the distinction of being the only women’s organization that has been through every wave of the women’s rights movement and every phase of the civil rights movement. The YWCA USA continues to be a bold leader, empowering women and broadening interracial understanding.
