Volunteer opportunities: Assisting in classrooms, rocking babies, coordinating children's book drives, landscaping, supporting a children's garden, cleaning and organizing storage spaces, and grant writing for funds to expand services and resources.

Volunteer opportunities: general office duties (ex: typing, filing, faxing, printing, etc.), preparing files and maintaining client database, assistance with annual Pink Ribbon campaign, Mother's Day campaign, assistance with local breast screenings, presentations, and health fairs.
Qualifications: Must be able to type at least 50 wpm. Demonstrates ability in written and verbal communication skills. Possesses knowledge of automated office equipment or willingness to learn such operation. Experience with word processing software.

Volunteers are needed for the Racial and Social Justice Committee (formerly known as Public Policy Committee)

Members meet monthly or bimonthly, usually at 5:30 pm at La Madeleine.

What we do:

- plan the Legislative Breakfast and Advocacy Day;

- plan the Racial Justice Award Breakfast
-
- oversee the Dialogue on Race program;
-
- advocate--recommend to the YWCA Board issues we will support or oppose at state and national levels.
Also, volunteer facilitators are needed for Dialogue on Race sessions. Prerequisite: Must have already attended a 6-week Dialogue on Race and 8 hour facilitator training.
