Sexual Assault Counseling Services
Caring, professional counselors provide confidential individual counseling to sexual assault survivors and their non-offending family members. Services are offered to women, children and men who have been victims of assault. The YWCA also holds group counseling and support groups on a variety of topics, including incest and the experience of significant others. Our programs provide client-centered sexual assault and sexual abuse counseling, as well as advocacy services.

Advocacy Services
YWCA  medical and legal advocacy programs strive to improve communication and understanding, and to bring about changes that will give sexual assault survivors greater access to justice and healing. The role of a YWCA advocate is to work on behalf of the client to facilitate the provision of services or other forms of assistance. Medical advocates provide 24-hour support for sexual assault survivors in the hospital emergency room to help survivors make informed decisions regarding their medical care. Legal advocates provide support through police and court proceedings so that survivors are aware of their rights in the criminal justice system.
