ENCOREplus Breast Cancer Screening & Education Program

Provides education on the importance of good breast health. Emphasis is placed on the triad of self breast exam, clinical breast exams and mammograms.

The MammoVan mobile mammography unit offers mammograms at two locations in the community.

3rd Monday of the month: Oakhill Renaissance Center
                                          345 Oakhill Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio

3rd Tuesday of the month: Alliance Community Outreach Program (ACOP) center
                                          2051 Niles Road, Warren, Ohio

Outreach education provided in community settings such as churches, women's groups and community centers allows for a comfort level while learning about this important issue. Links to free and low-cost screenings, transportation, monthly screening days and friendly supportive follow-up are also part of the program to eliminate barriers that may prevent women from obtaining necessary services.

To schedule an appointment for a mammogram at the YWCA or request a guest speaker, contact the YWCA Health Promotions Coordinator at 330-746-6361.
