Quality, Affordable Child Care For Children ages 2 1/2 to 12 Years Old
YWCA of Youngstown child care programs serve hundreds of children each day at various locations. The programs serve the needs of working families or those who are furthering their education by providing quality, affordable child care for children ages 2 1/2 years to 12 years of age. Each program is licensed by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
The YWCA of Youngstown Preschool program is located in the United Methodist Church on 2214 Mahoning Avenue in Youngstown. After-school and summer school-age program is also held at this location. After-school program is also held at Williamson Holmes McGuffey Elementary School (formerly West), 310 S. Schenley Avenue, Youngstown.
The YWCA also offers trainings and continuing education classes for child care providers in the community.
Community support provided by The Raymond John Wean Foundation and the Hine Memorial Fund.
Fees: Full-time and part-time rates are available. The YWCA strives to provide quality, affordable child care for families through partnerships with state and local agencies. The YWCA is contracted with the Mahoning, Columbiana, Trumbull, and Cuyahoga County Departments of Job and Family Services and the Educational Service Center. Child care scholarships are also available for eligible families.

YWCA Discovery Place West
Pre-school
YWCA Discovery Place West operates year-round preschool.
Operating Hours: Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Location: 2214 Mahoning Avenue, within the Mahoning United Methodist Church, on Youngstown's westside.
The preschool program is open for children ages 2 1/2 years and over. This program features age-appropriate curriculum designed for kindergarten-readiness and enrichment classes including language arts, cultural diversity, and music. 
School-Age Childcare
The YWCA operates after-school programs for children ages 6 to 12
Operating Hours: Monday through Friday from the close of school to 6 p.m.
Locations:
Programs include arts and crafts, homework help, sports, and games.
Summer School-Age Child Care
The YWCA operates a summer program for children ages 6 to 12.
Operating Hours: Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Location: YWCA Discovery Place West
Age-appropriate curriculum designed for summer enrichment and character building includes technology/science, cultural diversity, sports and games, visual arts, foreign countries, and community service. Art, indoor/outdoor free and structured play, weekly field trips, and special speakers keep children interested and excited.
