The YWCA Houston is focused on mission-driven programming.  As an organization we provide services to the community based on our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. 

• We support our hallmark programs of racial justice and economic empowerment as the road to stability and sustainability of the people in our communities.  We recognize that not only must we work on these issues, but we must also include health, fitness and wellness as strategic initiatives that we address in all activities of our organization. 
• We establish the development of programs that further our mission as the driver for fund development. 
• We commit to the collaboration and sharing of knowledge across departments to achieve our strategic program initiatives, recognizing that individual departments will take leadership roles in defining and coordinating each initiative's sustainability. 
• As a knowledge based entity, we commit to being a learning organization with the development of our staff as one of our over arching goals and excellent service to our community as the major goal in all undertakings.
