Teen Parent Mentor Program (TPMP)
TPMP offers educational activities and programs, the formation of a supportive relationship with an adult mentor, positive peer interactions and staff interventions. This program integrates several critical components: the pursuit of goals including personal, education and career, the development of positive parenting skills, improved access to community services and participation in health, fitness and wellness activities.
Note: TPMP program needs adult female volunteers to serve as mentors.
Days: 2nd & 4th Tuesdays
Time: 6:30-8:30PM

Teens Learning Childbirth (TLC)
(A Childbirth & Prenatal Fitness Program for Teens)
The TLC program, a collaboration between the YWCA and Women's Hospital, offers support for pregnant teens (13-19) in their preparation for birth and parenting. Teens may attend alone, with a partner, friend, parent, or they may choose to be matched with a female volunteer who will attend classes with them. TLC provides transportation, dinner, drawings for baby items, childcare for teens' other children, and childbirth and prenatal fitness classes.

Teen Families Reading Together
The YWCA of Greensboro and the Greensboro Public Library sponsor a program for TPMP moms. This program provides one-on-one tutoring, library resource information on jobs, colleges, and careers, financial literacy, computer skills, childcare, and friendship. The teens learn of the importance of reading with their children, have the opportunity to sing, play games, and create books for their children.

Doula Program
The YWCA's Doula Program is for adult females interested in becoming a certified labor coach. As a part of the certification process, doula trainees provide emotional support and comfort during childbirth, help with breastfeeding plus assistance with child-mother bonding to teen moms in TPMP. Adolescent Parenting Program
A parenting program for teen moms that meets in local schools. Mentors help teen moms as they work toward graduation, while also offering emotional support. No Charge. Call the TPMP office at 273-3461 ext. 117 for additional information.
Teen Parent Leadership Program
Program offers teen moms assistance in leadership development, career exploration, and increasing communication skills. No Charge. Call the TPMP office at 273-3461 ext. 117 for additional information.
Healthy Relationships for Teen Moms Program
A March of Dimes supported program that promotes healthy moms and healthy babies. No Charge. Call the TPMP office at 273-3461 ext. 117 for additional information.
Teens & Tots Summer Camp
(A Fun-filled Camp for Teen Moms and their Children)
If you are a teen mom and would love to share summer fun activities with your child, join us for the Teen Parent Mentor Programs' first summer camp. Each week will focus on different activities and themes. Field trips will be taken to ArtQuest, NC State Zoo, Children's Museum, and the Natural Science Center. Activities include: swimming, reading, arts & crafts, and stroller fitness. The summer camp is offered free of charge with food and transportation provided. If you would like to be a part of all the fun, contact the TPMP office at 273-3461 ext. 117. This year's camp is supported by Moses Cone-Wesley Long Community Health Improvement Fund, Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, Greensboro Public Library, United Way, and the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.
