Southeast Region

In 1999, recognizing that world and women are very different than they were in the previous century, the YWCA embarked on a new plan to reorganize the 302 YWCA member associations into regional councils that enhance the capacity of individual associations. Collectively the regions create and drive the national agenda of the YWCA - creating a dynamic organization that is responsive to local, regional as well as national concerns.

V-Day is a Global Movement to
End Violence Against Women and Girls

The award-winning play is based on V-Day Founder/playwright Eve Ensler's interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace the piece celebrates women's sexuality and strength. Through this play and the liberation of this one word, countless women throughout the world have taken control of their bodies and their lives. For more than twelve years, The Vagina Monologues has given voice to experiences and feelings not previously exposed in public.
