Program Spotlight: Employment Readiness
The YWCA of the Coulee Region offers an Employment Readiness program that helps women reentering the workforce after a lapse in employment develop the skills they need to secure a position and become the type of employee they want to be and employers want to hire.
The women meet weekly at Job Club to learn about skills that will help them obtain jobs and discuss what went well -- and wrong -- the past week at the work sites offered through the program. Attendees who participate in the sessions are offered paid work through WE Shine, a commercial and residential cleaning business. Another YWCA job site is The Orange Door.
If you need any extra cleaning help, contact Jessie Schwarz at (608) 781-2783, ext. 224 to set up your cleaning job.
Give a struggling woman in your community a hand up in reentering the workforce by hiring WE Shine Cleaners or shopping at The Orange Door!
La Crosse Tribune Reporter Patrick Anderson recently highlighted the story of a WE Shine participant. Click here to read the story.
