YWCA TEEN SERVICES

 BRIDGES,  is a program designed to provide one on one mentoring and group meetings to at-risk teenage girls, between the ages of 15 and 18.

• 1 on 1 mentoring: Each young girl will have the opportunity to build a mentorship relationship with a woman in her community. Each mentee and mentor will be matched based on similar interests and hobbies. Mentors and mentees will meet a maximum of one hour/week, or 4 hours/month, to spend quality time together.

• Group meetings: Each young girl will have the chance to connect with other local teen girls through weekly group meetings. Each meeting will be facilitated by the Teen Services Coordinator, and will involve meeting new friends, discussing relevant issues, learning new skills, and connecting with local resources. Most importantly, each meeting will provide an environment for each girl to be herself and to have fun!

Through quality relationships and connections with others in their community, each young woman will learn the skills to become confident and self-sufficient adults.

LEADERSHIP, is a scholarship program designed to address the needs of junior aged high school girls in their development into confident, strong and active members of their communities. During this eight month long program, qualified junior girls will participate in a series of leadership activities. They will be given the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills and learn pathways to success from outstanding female community members.

We believe that every young women has unique gifts and the potential to succeed, no matter what background she is from or what challenges she may face. These girls will learn to look inside of themselves to develop inner strength, character, and the skills that it takes to be a true leader.
