May 23, 2012: Drugs: From Prescription to Lifestyle
Drug abuse can go unnoticed, unreported, and untreated - in every community, in every kind of home - even in our own families.
This Diversity Dialogue will engage the public about prescription drug abuse. People who would never consider themselves capable of drug addiction, can find themselves chemically dependent on prescription painkillers, anti-anxiety drugs, or muscle relaxants. Doctors continue to prescribe these drugs long after their usefulness has passed, while addicts and their families either don't notice, or rationalize the drug use. The consequences of long-term prescription drug abuse are severe, life-threatening, and capable of ruining families.
Guest speakers will be announced.
Our Diversity Dialogues are always free and open to the public. They are held at our main office, 1610 Spy Run Avenue, Fort Wayne, from 12:00-1:30 pm. Free parking is available.
For more information or to RSVP, please check our Facebook page, or call Sue Hiatt at 424-4908 ext. 254.
