Franc-O-Fun French for Children begins Monday, January 26th at the YWCA. Classes are open to children from 18 months through 3rd grade.
- The mommy and me class introductory class gently introduces 18 – 30 month olds to French. Toddlers and their caregivers will be completely immersed and learn French together during this bonding, creative time where all the senses are stimulated with brightly colored props, easy to learn songs, fingerplay, fairytale stories acted out, body movement and simple dance. Babies and Moms adore Madame Ilona and the magical way she captivates the children.
- Beginning in nursery school we go beyond just numbers & colors; children will learn words and phrases for daily dialogue. Their language skills expand quickly as they are fully immersed in French. These older children will use their bodies through sign language to learn emotions, adjectives & verbs as well as poetry and finger play. They will learn to tell and sing stories through fairytale musical theatre, including many original songs written around specific themes which will be reinforced with creative games. These classes finish with a goûter (snack) and stories read aloud in French.
