The Fort Dodge YWCA offers a variety of programs to address the needs of those we serve. We work with other agencies in our community to assure that individual needs are met in the most efficient way possible.
The YWCA of Fort Dodge collaborates with many local and area agencies to provide needed services for the women staying in our facility and living throughout the community. Many people we serve are unaware these services exist or that they may qualify for assistance. Through effective collaborations, we can be sure the homeless are obtaining the assistance they are qualified to receive without doubling up on services offered. Collaborative partners include the Salvation Army (feeding program, transportation assistance, housing), The Lord’s Cupboard (food), Upper Des Moines Opportunity (rental utilities, transportation, prescription assistance), Fort Dodge Housing Agency (permanent housing), Community Health Clinic of Fort Dodge (sliding fee health and dental care, prescription assistance), Catholic Social Services (counseling), Children and Families of Iowa (counseling), Iowa State University Extension (nutrition, finance and budgeting assistance), Community and Family Resources (drug and alcohol treatment), Trinity Recovery Center (drug and alcohol treatment), Northwoods Community Services (case management, assistance with appointments, medication management and assistance with deposits for permanent housing), Webster County Community Services (mental health services), Domestic/Sexual Assault Outreach Center (domestic and sexual abuse counseling, legal services, adult and child advocacy, and emergency shelter for domestic abuse and sexual assault victims), Iowa State Vocational Rehabilitation (job training), Webster County Department of Human Services (food stamps, Title XIX), Webster County Relief Office (rental assistance, medication assistance), Iowa WIC (food), Webster County SHARE (food), Webster County Public Health (prescription set-up, vaccinations), Lutheran Family Service (counseling), Youth Shelter Care of Iowa (youth shelter), Iowa Workforce Development (employment), Social Security Administration (disability payments) temporary employment agencies, Trinity Regional Medical Center (mental and physical health services),
