Girls Incorporated® at the YWCA Madison

Girls Inc.® at the YWCA Madison (formerly Girl Neighborhood Power) is an after-school enrichment program designed specifically for girls ages 9-18. The program inspires girls to be strong, smart and bold by using research-based informal education programs that encourage girls to take risks and master physical, intellectual and emotional challenges. Major programs address math and science education, pregnancy and drug abuse prevention, media literacy, economic literacy, adolescent health, violence prevention, leadership development and sports participation.

Currently, there are three Girls Inc.® at the YWCA Madison sites: Goodman Community Center, Kennedy Heights Community Center and Wisconsin Youth and Family Center. The program assists girls living in low-income neighborhoods by providing curriculum-centered programming as well and social and community event opportunities.

If you would like more information about Girls Inc.® , contact Martha Lemnus, Girls Inc. Director, at 608-257-1436.
