Suited For Success 

Suited for Success is one of several YWCA programs designed to assist women in need. This program provides professional-styled clothing, shoes, and accessories to YWCA clients who need appropriate wardrobes in order to return to work or for job interviews. This program is made possible by the generous donations of business clothing from the community.

You can qualify to receive free clothing from our Boutique if you meet the following qualifications:

• You have been referred to the program by your case worker or a representative from a participating agency or neighborhood center.*
• You have not been to the Suited for Success Boutique for at least six months.
• You have a photo I.D. you can bring with you to the Boutique.

The Boutique is open

• Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to noon
• Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

The Boutique is located in the YWCA Madison Empowerment Center.

Donations

Our boutique relies on donations from individuals, corporations, and clothing stores who run clothing drives. By donating to the Suited for Success Boutique, you can help women feel good about themselves and be better prepared for finding jobs in their "new" clothes.

Donations accepted:

• professional (cleaned) women's clothing, sizes 16+
• scarves, jewelry
• shoes
• purses
• pantyhose
• new make-up
• shopping bags with handles

SEASONAL CLOTHING DONATONS  

It is most helpful if your donations are appropriate to the season.  Following is a timetable when it is best to make your donations.

 Winter –October, November, December, January
Spring–February, March
Summer –April, May, June, July
Fall –August, September

You can drop off clothing at the YWCA Empowerment Center Monday – Thursday 11 am – 4 pm. 

• The clothing in the Boutique is professional work attire. For example, clothes one might wear on an interview or to a professional job. Although you can donate any type of clothing, only professional clothing will available in the Boutique. Non-professional clothing will be distributed to YWCA residents and clients or used for fundraising for YWCA programs. 
  
• If you have a large donation, please call Samantha River at 608.257.1436 to arrange a drop off time. 
  
• Although the Boutique will accept clothing for any season, clothing for the current season is most appreciated.
  
• The greatest demand for clothing is in sizes 16 and up. We currently have an abundance of clothing in sizes 2-14. Please direct your donations in these sizes to the Community Action Commission's free clothing center (246-4730).

Suited for Success Women's Clothing Sales

On the second Saturday of every month, the Suited for Success Boutique holds a women's clothing sale from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The clothing sale features low prices on new and lightly-used clothing, with everything from business professional to casual. We have thousands of items in a range of sizes. Proceeds from the sales support the operation of the Boutique and the programs of the YWCA. 

Items are available in sizes 2 to 36. We have a nice selection of clothing in larger sizes.
