Strengthening families and strengthening the lives of women and girls - that is what the YWCA is all about. As times have changed, the ways in which the YWCA of Rockford has accomplished those goals has also changed, but the vision remains the same. As we navigate through new times, the YWCA of Rockford is finding new ways to support families, to help girls build better and brighter futures, and to empower women.
We invite you to join us on this journey.
Our current programs include Computer Skills Training, Racial Justice Programming, and Child Care Solutions. Since 1991 our work in child care, through the Child Care Solutions program, has strengthened families by allowing parents support as they further their educational and career goals. This program assists over 3,500 families each month. Last year alone, we also assisted over 100 individuals with specialized computer training here at the YWCA of Rockford in our Puri Family Computer Lab, over 500 individuals were also able to use our computer lab during open lab hours, and hundreds of members of the community were able to participate in our many racial justice trainings, but there is more to do.
Your supporting membership of the YWCA of Rockford will provide you with a variety of benefits, which are outlined on our membership page. More importantly however, your membership support will help create a supportive, dynamic environment for women and girls in the four counties we serve in northern Illinois. Stronger women and girls will result in stronger communities for us all.
There is strength in numbers.
We are asking you to join the YWCA of Rockford at whatever level is most comfortable for you, but we ask that you join! With membership, not only will you receive personal benefits, but more importantly you will be pledging your commitment to women helping women, and women helping girls, so they are all able to reach their fullest potential.
