 Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS)

 

 

 

 

How YWCA Child Care Solutions can assist you with the QRIS System:

 

Quality Specialists are available to assist providers through the Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) process. The Specialists can provide support, training, and consultation in understanding the QRIS process including:

 

  • Offering required trainings
  • Assistance in understanding and using the Environment Rating Scales (ERS), Program Administration Scale (PAS), and Business Administration Scale (BAS)
  • Onsite consultations, observations, and assessments
  • Assistance with the application process to QRIS
  • Development of program improvement plans
  • Referral to additional resources including the Infant Toddler Specialist, Mental Health Consultant, and Nurse Consultant

License Exempt (Non-Licensed) Home Child Care Providers

For license-exempt family child care providers, there are three tiers of training to achieve for the Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS). Providers caring for Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) children receive a quality bonus of 10%, 15%, or 20% to the standard payment for CCAP children in care. Click here to learn more!

Licensed Family Child Care Homes and Group Homes

For Illinois DCFS licensed family/group home child care providers, there are four QRIS Levels to achieve. A program must be currently licensed to apply at any level. Providers serving children eligible for the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) receive a quality bonus of 5%, 10%, 15% or 20% to the standard payment rate for CCAP children in care.
