TECHgyrls

Ages: 9 to 17
When: September to June

TECHGyrls is a ten (10) week program designed for young girls ages 11-18 and is offered in an all girl environment where they feel comfortable taking risks and opening up to new learning opportunities.

Through community service and leadership projects, girls learn to use technology in ways that are both motivating and compelling to them. The TECHGyrls curriculum is designed so girls with limited exposure to technology will see its relevance to their lives and take to it immediately.

Our curriculum covers computer basics including Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  We also cover College Preparedness, Resume Building, Business Plan building, MovieMaker, Intro to Photoshop, Mobile Application building, Mock Interviews for summer jobs and internships as well as a certificate upon completion of the course.

TECHGyrls is offered at the YWCA facility and at select schools throughout the Pasadena Unified School District. Contact  the YWCA at 626.296.8433 for more information or to register
